Sea Captain’s House has deep roots in Myrtle Beach and has been part of the coastal community since 1962. We’re not only passionate about serving the freshest, local seafood, but also about supporting our local Grand Strand community. We believe in giving back and are excited to announce we will be partnering with the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach on a special project. The International Culinary Institute offers students a unique opportunity to get an excellent culinary education while building a resume as they get industry experience in one of the top tourist destinations.
Starting Valentine’s Day, we’ll be featuring a special dessert on our menu that was created by one of the students. This decadent dessert was created by Alydia Lamb, a culinary graduate and current student of the institute. We wanted something tropical to add to our array of desserts, so she came up with a fruity treat that’s as sweet as the view of our oceanfront dining experience. Alydia’s dessert creation is a Mango Mousse with a Cream Cheese Topping and a Pink Guava Sauce. Everything at the institute is made from scratch, and you can taste the freshness in every bite. The different textures—the lightness of the mango mousse and the creaminess of the cream cheese—complement each other while the pink guava sauce ties it all together. The final product is a tasty and refreshing dessert that is sure to be a top seller.
The majority of the proceeds will be going directly back to the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach. We’re excited to encourage these future chefs as they work hard to perfect their skills and represent South Carolina in cooking competitions. If you’d like to help support local students and enjoy a delicious new dessert, be sure to order the Mango Mousse next time you dine with us at Sea Captain’s House in Myrtle Beach. We bet you won’t be able to put your fork down!
